Through the hybridization of a beak, symbol of bird nutrition and consequently a fundamental element enabling life, with biomedical industrial tools for the reconstruction of the human hand, the project underscores the hand-beak relationship. Analyzing the historical-social baggage of the human hand as an authoritative figure of power over an “other” is the premise of this work, which encompasses the complexities that make up the practice of care.
